Career in Architecture

Architecture deals with the designing and planning of buildings and structures and the spaces between them. It is a highly competitive and multi-disciplinary profession which involves a variety of tasks including interior decoration, aesthetics, safety management, material management, landscaping etc.


Architects are trained licensed professionals who are involved in all the phases of the building construction i.e. the functional, safety, economical and have to satisfy the needs of its occupants. They are responsible for the planning, designing and supervision of construction works of buildings, landscapes, and even entire town (as in town planning).


An Architect is a combination of artist, professional and businessman. They make blueprints of their designs and then see them come to life as cottages, skyscrapers and even monuments. Apart from designing and construction, architects are trained in activities ranging from conceptual problem solving to project management.


One can rise to a successful position in the field through talent and hard work. An individual, or work in a partnership firm is often resorted as private practice.


Eligibility and course areas: Bachelor of Architecture (4yrs) B Arch or M Arch.


Career Options and Job Prospects: Options are both available for Private work or in partnership firm or in government offices.
