Floriculture is the cultivation of flowers for commercial purposes. In Floriculture one id required to take up research on developing improved, disease-resistant and high-yielding varieties of flowers and ensure cultivation of the same after checking their climatic and soil adaptability. Quality control is of prime importance in Floriculture. This is the aspect which has to be kept in mind constantly.

People have always cultivated flowers for ornamental purposes at home, schools, colleges or office premises. In many of these places, planting of flowers may be done on a smaller scale. However, even here a gardener is indespensible. It is not wrong to say that all gardeners are technically floriculturists. Gardening's roots can be traced to our remote past. So the concept of Floriculture is not an entirely new concept.

Eligibility: In order to study Floriculture, one should have completed 10+2 with Botany as an option. To get admitted into an agricultural university offering degree in Floriculture/Horticulture, one has to pass an entrance examinations conducted by them.

The job of a Floriculturist involves studying the patterns, suitable geographical ambience and climatic conditions for the growth of variuos floral plant species. Hence a professional degree is required but you can also start up with a nursery without obtaining a degree or a diploma. Professional training is not a hard and fast requirement for getting a break in the profession of Floriculture. However one should be willing to be hardworking and enterprising enough to maintain such a farm. A degree in Floriculture neverthless serves to give that competitive edge over others engaged in the same profession.

Remunerations: For professionally trained Floriculturists working on private companies or public sector enterprises (PSEs), the starting salary can be between Rs.6,000 and Rs.8,000. For those taking up managerial positions or marketing positions in Floriculture companies, the salary can range between Rs.12,000 and Rs.20,000 or even higher. Those conducting research work on flowers can command a resonable price as consultation fee. However, if you become enterpreneur and serve the domestic or overseas market as a supplier of flowers there can be no limits to your income.

General Defintion:

The exact definition of a pharmacy technician varies based on the state you live in. However, the basic definition is an individual working in a pharmacy who, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assists in pharmacy activities that do not require the professional judgement of a pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians are used in a wide variety of practice settings, including community pharmacies, hospitals, the military, in home health care, long term care, mail service facility, managed health care facilities, and educational/training programs. For the purposes of national voluntary certification, pharmacy technicians are defined as individuals working in a pharmacy, who under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in pharmacy activities not requiring the professional judgement of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician is accountable to the supervising pharmacist, who is legally responsible by virtue of state licensure for the care and safety of patients served by the pharmacy. The pharmacy technician performs activities as the result of having certain knowledge and skills.

Mutual funds are emerging as an important financial intermediary for the investing public in India. Conceptually and operationally they are different. The investors need to understand the working of a mutual fund and the increasingly diverse and complex investment options brought to them by a large number of mutual funds. AMFI believes that the key channel in bringing the mutual funds to a large number of investors all over the country is the network of INTERMEDIARIES/DISTRIBUTORS.

The intermediaries/distributors have to take on the role of financial advisors to investors, a role for which they need preparation. AMFI Mutual Fund Certification and Registration Programme has been put together to give the fund distributors the knowledge and insights required for them to become both better intermediaries and more informed mutual fund advisors. Even mutual fund employees need to understand the complexities of how the funds function internally and externally.

AMFI Mutual Fund Certification is based on a testing programme. There are two Modules of the test. The first is the AMFI Mutual Fund (Basic) Module. This is a general test covering the concept, structure and other essential general topics. This is meant for all employees of Mutual Funds (other than those who are engaged in selling and marketing activities), general public and for those who would like to have a basic knowledge of concept and working of Mutual Funds. Any one who desires to acquire knowledge of the functioning of the mutual fund without seeking to become a fund distributor can take part one test independently. A certificate will be issued separately for Basic Module test to the successful candidates. There is no validity period for the AMFI-Mutual Fund (Basic) Module certification.

The second is the AMFI Mutual Fund (Advisors) Module and it covers subjects such as financial planning, risks in fund investing, model portfolio selection in addition to the subjects covered under the Basic Module and constitute a single certification programme which is designed for certification of fund distributors or intermediaries engaged in selling mutual fund schemes, employees of corporate intermediaries and employees of mutual funds who are engaged in selling and marketing activities. The validity period for the AMFI-Mutual Fund (Advisors) module certification is for five years.

A Medical Technologist is a healthcare professional who performs diagnostic analytic tests on human body fluids such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, cerebrospinal fluid, peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid, and synovial fluid, as well as other specimens. Dance (from French danser, perhaps from Frankish) generally refers to movement of the body, usually rhythmic and to music, used as a form of expression, social interaction or presented in a spiritual or performance setting In India, dance is an age-old tradition. Indian dance is an extremely intricate art requiring skill, hard work and discipline. All Indian dances portray some expression of life and almost every dance posture has a specific meaning. Dance themes are derived from mythology, folklore, legends and classical literature.

In India dance is said to have originated from ‘Natya Shastra’, which is a detailed script written on all aspects of Indian dance. The author of ‘Natya Shastra’ was ‘Bharata Muni’ in the 2nd century B.C. The two main divisions of Indian dance forms are classical and folk. The various classical forms OD Indan dance are Bharatnatyam of Tamil Nadu, Kuchupudi of Andhra Pradesh, Odissi of Orissa, Kathak, Kathakali and Manipuri. The uniqueness of Indian classical dances is that they are all devotional in content. Of all these dance forms, Bharat Natyam is believed to be the oldest and the purest Indian classical dance.

Ideally training in Dance can start as early as six years. Inborn talent is also a must. Careers in this field can be that of a performer, teacher and choreographer.
